Error encountered: "Value does not fall within the expected range..." for list folders

    Hi,

I have a MOSS 2007 SP1 environment I am creating folders under a list. When click on "View Item", "Edit Item" or "Manage Permissions" I get the following error:

Value does not fall within the expected range.

I have a Publishing site template where I am doing it. Does someone have answer or hotfix to this issue?  Any help will be greatly appericiated.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Shell.....

    Shell,

Have you made any modifications to the master page, page layout or anything else?  Sounds to me like something has been changed with the menuing code...

Look at the URL when you hover over these menu items and tell me what it says.

The master page is not modified at all, all I have done is changed the theme of the site, changed the default picture etc. Here is the URL I see when I hover over it.

    http://10.65.197.18/sites/ctosandbox/PMDB/Lists/Products/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fsites%2fctosandbox%2fPMDB%2fLists%2fProducts%2fS30011ST&FolderCTID=&View=%7b00B2815F%2d39B7%2d4D84%2dBC23%2d8B337A9643E9%7d

I can go inside the Folder and see items and do everything.....but when I try to goto Folder drop down and do "View/Edit/Manage Permissions" it throws up the error.

Do you see similar behaviour in your environment too for Publishing sites?

    Thanks!

    Shell,

That URL looks correct, that why I say there is something else going on.  If you change back to the default theme do you still see the same problem?

And no, we don't have this issue in our environment at all.  We are running MOSS 2007 with WSS v3.0 SP1, MOSS 2007 SP1 and Office Server Infrastructure Updates installed.

    Hi Bob,

I changed the theme as well as master page to be default and still I face the same issue. The other intersting thing is that I can create the folder in Document library in the same site and it works like charm. However, the list folders still give me the problem.

Other point is, I am running MOSS 2007 SP1 and without infrastructure update. I tested the same in 4 different environments running on MOSS 2007 SP1 WITHOUT infrastructure update and got the same result.

    Any thoughts?
